Top 6 Creative Design Trends in 2022 - The Metaverse concept is on the Rise

The metaverse trend has been around for a while and it’s definitely getting bigger each day. Though, there is still a debate about if the metaverse really exists or if it’s going to be “the thing”, the concept seems to be growing.

Let’s start with the definition of what metaverse is. We have had so many different posts about the metaverse, but it’s interesting to see that it actually made it into our list of top creative trends of the year.

“Metaverse is a network of simulated digital environments with its main focus on social connection. It uses persistent virtual worlds, blockchain, and augmented reality to create spaces for interaction online. This is facilitated by mobile internet as well as augmented and virtual reality headsets”. (

The metaverse concept is highlighted by well reputable brands such as Adobe and Depositphotos as highly trending, but on the other hand, we’re not sure if this universe of avatar-inhabited virtual environments will be successful. We believe that what exists in real life, can also exist in the metaverse in terms of designs. People aren’t going to stop using their phones and being mobile, so that’s why big brands are also adapting to the idea of being present in the metaverse such as Adidas for example. It announced its entry into the virtual world with an NFT collection in collaboration with Bored Ape Yacht Club and Prada.

At the end of the day, the metaverse concept can open up new possibilities for #digitalcreators, #illustrators, and #graphicdesigners, especially for partnerships and collaborations. Let’s see what happens in the upcoming year when processes are getting more digitized day by day.

What do you guys think about the idea of the metaverse both in terms of #design and #businesses?
